There are few places where one can feel a million miles away from the chaos and the routine of the city without traveling too far, and Cascina Cuccagna, with its restaurant Un Posto a Milano, is definitely one of the best ones. Where to eat
Where to eat in Milano? If you love food, Milano is the right city for you, as it offers everything from a quick but delicious panino to a six-course, Michelin star dinner. Here you will find my restaurant reviews and my recommendations for the best dining experiences in and around Milano.
When I eat, I’m profoundly happy. This wasn’t the case when I was a child: growing up I was a very picky eater, and I would refuse to eat or even try most foods. All I ate was pasta with butter and Parmesan, smoked salmon and steak. Crazy, I know. But then, right around the time I was 11, something clicked. I started being curious, and I started trying new foods. Turns out, I liked pretty much everything. Which, I guess, was fortunate as I landed one of the best jobs I’ve ever had shortly after graduating college. For 3 wonderful years I was the food critic for the Naples Daily News in Naples, Florida. Being a restaurant reviewer was fun and it taught me a lot about food, about ingredients, about eating and, ultimately, about myself.

But if I really have to come up with something that I miss about living there, it’s something food related. It’s the…View Post
There was a time when pizza was just pizza: one crust, ten or twelve options, standard ingredients: and it was fine, of course, because pizza is amazing, even when it’s the simplest of pies. Still, when “gourmet pizzas” started to be a thing, I was secretly thrilled: as much as I love a regular Margherita or Marinara, the idea of experimenting with different and unusual toppings and flavors intrigued me. So I was thrilled to try…View Post
I’m the sort of person who shouldn’t believe in first impressions. When I met my best friend Francesca right before the beginning of our sophomore year in high school, I immediately disliked her for no reason whatsoever. Two years later Carolina, who also became my best friend, moved to our school at the end of our junior year and, sure enough, I didn’t like her at first. When I met Marco, who has recently become…View Post
If you haven’t tried Brazilian style sushi yet, I suggest you drop everything you are doing and head over to Copacabana Brazilian Sushi right away: fresh, intriguing and perfect for everyone (yes, even for those who don’t like raw fish), the rolls that come out of Chef Barreto’s kitchen are so tasty you will want to go back for more (and more. And MORE.) Copacabana Temakeria has been around since 2014 with two very chic locations –…View Post
